Presented by CFA Institute and the FinTech Association of Hong Kong.
Webinar PresentationDownload PDF
Covid-19 is accelerating government and industry focus on workforce skills across APAC and beyond. A clear trend is the convergence of technology and traditional finance: as FinTech grows as its own defined industry, the finance industry is evolving in ways that put technology at its core. The panel discusses the implications for education, training, and future job opportunities, and how this is being addressed at both a macro (governmental) and micro (companies and individuals) level.
- Pete Bentley, Future of Work Practice Leader, Aon Human Capital Solutions
- Brian Lam, Senior Manager, Fintech Facilitation Office, Hong Kong Monetary Authority

Clare Witts is Director of Government and Regulator Relations, APAC, at CFA Institute. She works with policy makers and regulators on topics relating to finance skills and training, often in close partnership with local CFA Societies. She is also responsible for CFA Institute’s relationships with industry associations, consultants and advisory organisations across APAC.
Clare previously spent 12 years working in equity brokerage in APAC with a specialization in electronic trading, market structure and technology. As Head of Relationship Management for electronic trading pioneer ITG (now Virtu Financial) she saw first-hand the evolution that technology can bring to institutional investment management processes, while also developing an understanding of the barriers to technology-driven change. She chairs APAC meetings for Quorum 15, an industry think-tank for senior traders, is actively involved in Women In Finance Asia (WiFA) and maintains a strong interest in fintech developments and communities across the region.
Brian Lam is a Senior Manager at the Fintech Facilitation Office of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority responsible for facilitating the healthy development of the fintech ecosystem in Hong Kong and promoting Hong Kong as a fintech hub in Asia. Prior to this assignment, he has helped setting up the operation of the Trade Repository of the HKMA for the over-the-counter derivatives trades reporting regime. Before joining the HKMA, he worked for a number of global investment banks and "Big-4" accounting firms, both in Hong Kong and London. Brian holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Oxford, England.
Pete focuses on helping deliver workforce agility and resilience to drive performance as the leader of Aon’s Future of Work practice. Recently this has involved helping companies rethink how they understand, enable and manage their workforce in the “new-better.”
Pete has built two successful digital platforms, developed a leading financial service data provision business; built two advisory practices and conceived, designed and implemented a “first-mover” digital content business within a bank.
Pete has worked as a consultant and within investment banks in a variety of commercial roles globally for close to 20 years. As a consultant he has built several successful practices while helping Banks: manage their sales force, build client strategies aligned to business plans, and leverage data to drive sales effectiveness, resource deployment and motivate talent.
Pete also helped numerous FinTech businesses refine their commercial model, go-to-market strategy and raise (tens of millions) in capital.
Warwick Pearmund leads the Madison Pearl business in Hong Kong. He specialises in recruiting top talent across the core disciplines of financial technology, quantitative and systematic finance, payments, digital strategy, insurtech, data science, analytics, AI and machine learning, robotics, blockchain and cyber security.
