Speakers
Hamish is the Chief Financial Officer of Sustainable Property Investment, a value-add commercial property fund with 10 Auckland based commercial property assets worth $155 million and 74 investors, many of them nonprofits and charities. Hamish has significant experience in corporate finance, strategy and investment advisory having worked for Deloitte and some of New Zealand's largest corporates as well as a boutique Investment Bank. Hamish also spent two years in London working on a range of transactions and advisory projects as an independent consultant.
Hamish is also on the Board of North Harbour Hockey Association, a nonprofit, where he also chairs the Audit and Risk committee and sits on the Commercial and Policies committees. Hamish is also an experienced field hockey umpire and umpire coach. Hamish holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance and a Certificate in Languages in German from the University of Auckland.
TJ Hyun works as a director at Credian Partners, a private equity firm specializing in global investments. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been working in Private Equity and Venture Capital industries for the past six years. During this time, he has executed investments in both public and private companies in the U.S. and Korea across various sectors including healthcare, consumer goods, and aesthetics.
In addition to his investment experience, TJ served as a board member at ExoCoBio, a global leader in exosome-based regenerative aesthetics. He was also dispatched as a BD manager to a healthcare startup founded by Seven Tree Equity Partners, a private equity firm where he was employed at that time, contributing significantly to the company’s growth up to the Pre-IPO stage. TJ earned his CFA charter in 2022.
Frank is a Portfolio Manager within MLC Asset Management's Diversified Portfolios (Default) team which manages over $50bn on behalf of our superannuation members. He is responsible for the construction and ongoing management of the diversified portfolios of MLC Super Fund and ANZ Smart Choice, and the infrastructure asset class. Frank commenced his career as Research Manager at DEXX&R and later joined Dixon Advisory where he was responsible for developing asset allocation and investment strategies for SMSF portfolios. Frank is a CFA® charterholder and Chair of the University Engagement committee in CFA Society Sydney. He also holds Master of Finance from the University of New South Wales and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney.
Yushu (Lucy) Wu, CFA (hereafter “Lucy”), Portfolio Manager from Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank (hereafter “SMTB”). Lucy is currently handling set-up or so-called structuring of various SMA vehicles for the client base mainly constituted of institutional investors in Japan, through which global private assets such as private equity, infrastructure, real estate, etc. are invested; meanwhile also engaging in portfolio management related tasks for such vehicles. She has started her financial industry career since 2007 with SMTB, and has experienced broad industrial fields for nearly 17 years through internal job rotation, mainly related to the institutional investor services including corporate pension actuarial services, public market investment product sales, and trusted products structuring/securitization/monitoring/secondary deal processing. Lucy has received an MS in Biochemistry from the University of Tokyo and a BSc major in life science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. She is also a chartered member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan (abbreviated as “CMA”).
As the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships of CFA Institute, Scott is responsible engaging with key industry stakeholders to promote the highest standards of education and professional excellence. This includes formulating strategic partnerships on research, professional learning and investor protection initiatives.
On behalf of CFA Institute, Scott manages the Asia-Pacific Research Exchange (ARX) - a research hub that brings together like-minded finance and investment management professionals to share, learn and engage on relevant industry topics. Leveraging ARX, Scott and his team have organized 300+ online and offline events for CFA members, candidates and other industry stakeholders in the past few years.
Scott possesses Master’s in International Management, Postgraduate diploma in Business Administration, Bachelor of Banking and Finance and Bachelor of Computing.
